Under tight schedule and difficult conditions PHCC completed repairing the westside bridge abutement to Wrightsville Beach 30' feet underwater. Sheetpiles were driven, unstabable soils were removed, old piles were removed, and concrete was poured at the base of the bridge abutement. Due to keeping the bridge open during high traffic hours, much of the work was done late night when the bridge was allowed to be closed. David Brinkley of Atlantic Coast Industrial perfomed the marine construction with PHCC support. Tom Barton was Project Manager and NCDOT was the pleased owner.
