PHCC Bicycle/Pedestrian Project at Parris Island Completed

PHCC's Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail Project and Road Repair at Parris Island has been completed. The entrance road/causeway to the Marine base is paved and Malecon South is ready to reopen. Storm drainage at Wake Boulevard is finished. Repaving at Alaska and Wake is complete. Grassing and and relocated palm trees are doing well.

Tom Yates was Project Manager, Luby Bell, Jr. was Quality Control Manager.

Rea Contracting was the paving subcontractor and paved with minimal disruption to traffic and services. Up to 600 tons of asphalt was laid in a single day. PHCC crews  modified the causeway bridge, built retaining walls, and poured concrete ramps and aprons.
