PHCC Awarded Battle Branch Trail Bridge in Chapel Hill, N.C.

PHCC has been awarded the contract to construct the foundation and bridge over Battle Branch Creek in Chapel Hill, N.C. This project involves removing the old pedestrian bridge over Battle Branch and replacing it with a 6’ X 60’ long prefabricated standard truss structure. Battle Branch is located in the Cape Fear River Basin. The bridge is part of a larger trail system mostly located on OWASA’s sanitary sewer outfall right of way. As well as the new bridge structure, the surrounding stream will be stabilized with root wads, logs, and boulders as stream restoration. The owner is Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation. Project Manager is Tom Barton. The project will start September 2011.
